It has come to my attention that life can get difficult. I was unaware of this until I heard of something on the internet called ‘lifehacks’. If you’re unfamiliar with the term, as I was until last week, it’s essentially someone pointing out common sense ways to make your life easier, because life can be hard.

Some of the more useful websites for lifehacks offer long lists of suggestions in quite a novel way; rather than putting them all on one web page they put one or two sentences explaining the lifehack on one page and allow you to click to the next page to get the next nugget of amazing information. This is wonderful because each of these webpages have on average 10 to 30 advertisements for dating sites, celebrity gossip, and even more lists of lifehacks. Imagine, a site that is wholly dedicated to making your life better. They have tips to be more productive, 12 positive effects of whisky, how to stay in a healthy relationships. It’s all really quite insightful. Last week I spent over 32 hours clicking my way through endless portals of information I had no idea I needed in my life. Did you know that researchers found 3 reasons why sarcastic people are more intelligent? Or that drinking beer surprisingly helps fight cancer? It only gets better. Every time you finish one of these articles there’s a whole list of other articles that relate to the ones you’ve read. You can share them on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Linkedin and you can even email articles to those dinosaurs who don’t use social media.

Lifehacks  have saved my life. Before I discovered lifehacks I used to try and figure out how to do things based off my experience, I used to call my friends and ask for help and suggestions, I used to go to the library and take out books. I was wasting so much time! I haven’t left my house in a week. I discovered in one lifehack that I can order vegan organic food online. I also read one of the seven ways to live a healthy and active lifestyle is to do exercise so I ordered a treadmill! I ran 15km this morning without even leaving my house! I even ordered potted plants from a local store because I read that having plants in your house is one of the 23 things you can do to make yourself happy. Two days ago I emailed my boss notifying him that I was quitting, citing an article that explained making drastic life changes will lead to personal growth. I also read an article explaining that being in debt wasn’t as bad as we’ve been lead to believe and at the bottom they had an advertisement for a free credit card! How lucky is that? I had no idea life would be this easy! With that I must go now; I have a Skype date with a lovely 19 year old from Ukraine!
